I suggest doing what I did, buy the retail copy of the OS and dual boot the 32bit and 64bit, and test them both out. the few things I've run in to have been "Vista" in general I personally would build the gaming machine and install Vista 32 bit and then upgrade to Vista 64 bit when it is fully compatible.
